Hebrews 7:25

I was doing my morning Facebook and Instagram scroll this morning (bad habit, I know I know.) But I saw something that kinda stopped me in my tracks. It was a post from @Thegracescripts on Instagram. The post was a quote that said this: “If I could hear Christ praying for me in the next room, I would not fear a million enemies. Yet distance makes no difference, He is praying for me” – Robert Murray M’cheyne

I’m not really sure why this one post grabbed my attention so much – maybe it was the watercolor painting behind the quote, maybe Jesus was telling me to just stop, I really ca n’t pinpoint it. To be honest, I had to read it a few times to get it to sink in. Jesus, praying for me? The one that sits at the right hand of God? Why me? Why my struggles, my issues, my faults? The predicaments that I put myself in – because I am selfish and lazy and irresponsible? Why does He care?

And then I get slapped in the face with this truth. I am Chosen. Literally, my word for 2024 that I’ve just kinda forgotten about. Honestly, I had to go on Cornerstone’s Instagram page to find the post because I couldn’t remember. That’s how my life is going lately…

I am chosen. You are chosen. We are loved, protected, watched over, AND PRAYED FOR. By Jesus. Jesus. The Savior of the world, the human form of God himself. He prays for us. And if you don’t believe me, read it for yourself in Hebrews. “Therefore, He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, since he always lives to intercede for them’ Heb 7:25.

As we enter this Easter season, let us reflect on that. As if Jesus giving his life for our sins – our ugly, repulsive, shameful sins, wasn’t enough. He continues to advocate for us, to love us, to pray for us. Because He chose us. You, me, the mailman, the waitress at your favorite restaurant, the person that cut you off in traffic (😅😅) every person you see what chosen by Jesus.

Jesus prays for his people, the ones He’s chosen, the ones He loves. Just like we pray for our people, the ones we love, Jesus prays for us.

And knowing that Jesus specifically prays for you by your name is probably one of the most comforting and peace inducing things I can think of.

I pray this uplifts you today and helps shift your perspective! Have a wonderful week, friends ❤️
