It’s so funny how Coworking is now a household term – thanks Covid! When Cornerstone started, it was to fit a need in the community. A need that stemmed from a family starting their own business while running out of room in their home basement! And man, are we so glad that Novologic decided to branch out and open a coworking space in 2013, really before anyone even knew what coworking was.

We have seen such a shift in the remote working industry since the pandemic. People prefer working remote, they are more productive and it seems to be way easier to balance life when you have a remote or hybrid position. That’s where we come in! Why Coworking? Why work at a coworking or flexible office space when you could work in the comfort of your own home? You’ve got the questions and we’ve got the answers! 

For starters, being out of the house really helps enhance your productivity. When you’re sitting at home, the distractions are countless – laundry, dishes, the baseboards that you haven’t cleaned in 4 years (and you know that’s the truth!), the dogs, and also that show that you’ve been sucked into and just want to finish. All of those things come to the forefront of your mind instead of the todo list sitting to the right of you. Being at a coworking space gives your mind a break. You can just walk in, grab a spot and surround yourself with others who are doing the same thing – leaving the house to get work done. Finding that productivity and efficiency comes easy when there’s separation between the responsibilities from home and work! 

There’s something refreshing about just getting ready for the day. It’s been said over and over again that you feel how you dress. Now, I’m not saying that we’re a suit and tie kind of place. But having a reason to actually get out of the pajamas is always nice! Studies have shown that getting dressed – making that transition from pajamas to day clothes – boosts your dopamine levels and puts you in a better mood! Personally, I know that it’s so true for me. Even on my worst days, putting on one of my favorite outfits just puts a smile on my face!
