Volunteering Opportunities in Gwinnett County:

  1. Brookwood High School is looking for business professional to mentor their entrepreneurship students. This volunteer experience will be a ‘round table’ discussion with the student, to get advice on how to make their ideas a reality. There are 5 dates available to sign up, spreading from November 2nd to March 30th.   2. Calling all animal lovers! Parkwood Farms Therapy Center is looking for people to help brush and walk the horses in between therapy sessions. Parkwood is a therapy center that allows children with special needs to ride horses while having a therapy session to work on controlling their muscle use. This is a good volunteer experience for families with older kids. For more information, check out Parkwood’s website!
  3. Touch a Life Inc is an organization in the greater Atlanta area that supports teenagers and young adults who grow up in low income housing and are struggling to get by. Touch a Life is packing dinners for their Harvest Time event that provides Thanksgiving meals for many people that wouldn’t normally have one. This opportunity is for adults who are able to donate a few hours of their time to organize and pack meals. For more information or to sign up to volunteer, head over here!
  4. Streetwise is an organization in Lawrenceville that is a one stop shop for all volunteer opportunities in Gwinnett  County! Streetwise has done collections from school supplies to prom dresses to even baby clothes and supplies for new moms. They always have Thanksgiving events, and this year they are dropping off meals to underprivileged families. For more information or to sign up, check out their website!
