Sometimes mornings get a bad wrap, but they actually have so much potential! Think of mornings as a fresh start, maybe a new sale or a new relationship is on the horizon, and all you have to do is start the day!  An easy way to motivate yourself to get out of bed and to start the day is by implementing a morning routine, not only will it save you time, but it will set you up for a successful and productive day. Many successful entrepreneurs swear by their morning routines, here are some tips and tricks that the most successful entrepreneurs live by.

Wake Up Early:  We’ve all heard the saying ‘the early bird gets the worm’ and its true! Make the most of your time by waking up early and taking advantage of the quiet morning hours to get a head start on your to-do list. Not only are there fewer distractions in the morning hours, but studies show that we are 80% more productive mostly because our brain is charged and ready to work after a good night’s sleep. Not surprisingly, some of the worlds most successful people wake up early. Pepsi CEO, Indra Nooyi, wakes up at 4 am and Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, wakes up at 5:30 am to workout. Try waking up early for a few weeks and see how much more productive your days are!

Work Out: Bill Gates and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos swear by working out in the morning because of its positive impact on productivity.  Working out in the morning is known to increase productivity, energy levels, and concentration. Studies have shown that working out increases energy levels by 10-15% and also increases mental clarity for hours post workout. Try getting up an hour earlier this week and head to the gym to see how it increases your productivity and energy levels throughout the day! The good news is that your workout doesn’t have to be intense, it can be something light like walking on the treadmill or riding the bike. You can also read the New York Times or listen to inspiring Ted Talks while working out for double productivity.

Take Time For Yourself: Sometimes setting time aside for yourself in the morning is an afterthought, but it is the perfect thing to include in your morning routine. Whether taking time for yourself means taking a longer shower than usual shower, meditating, praying, reading a book, or making a special breakfast be sure to include it in your morning routine. These activities can help you clear your mind and prepare for the day ahead, which is sure to increase productivity. They also keep you motivated to wake up and get the day started!
