Gratitude | How it Changes You
To live a life of gratitude, what exactly does that mean? It seems that there is this huge gratitude movement going on these days. What all does a grateful life look like and how does it change you? We are here to break down what gratitude looks like for us, how it has affected our lives and also some great tools for helping you to choose gratefulness every single day!
Being grateful is a decision. It’s a decision I made early in 2020 (pre-pandemic) and honestly, it helped me navigate through some of the hardest times I have personally lived through. While yes, everyone is grateful for their family, their friends, their home, etc. But do you say it out loud or write it down every day? Each day, I pick one thing that I am grateful for, I write it down in a journal and then each night before bed, my husband and I pick three things we are grateful for from the day and share them with each other. Vocalizing our gratitude helps us appreciate the small things in life and also understand each other on a deeper level.
I can honestly say that choosing gratitude has changed my life for the better. The world seems brighter, little things don’t destroy my day the way they used to, and I appreciate the little things in life, when I used to take those for granted. I want to give you a 2 week challenge – every day for 14 days, write down one thing that you’re grateful for. It can be something as simple as a new pack of pens, maybe you had a longer break between meetings today, or even enjoyed a walk in the sunshine.
