Staying focused and on purpose is a difficult thing to do. To have a personal and professionally fulfilling career, understanding your purpose is essential. Understanding what you wish to learn and grow and how that connects to the overall organization is where this starts.
- Act on Purpose – How do the goals connect?
- Your personal work goals and organizational goals should connect
- Map your plan – understanding what needs to be done and in what order to support your purpose
- Think of this as Project Management
- Uproot your distractions – identify these
- when you do not know where you should focus your attention, you tend to drift to things that you can do quickly and give you a feeling of accomplishment.
- These things may not support the purpose of what you are doing.
