“In many mays effective communication begins with mutual respect, communication that inspires, encourages others to do their best.”  – Zig Zigler

As communication and listening are so vitally important to continuity and success in our lives both personally and professionally, we will have a number of “Bits & Pieces” on the subject.  I personally experience situations where I could have done a much better job of communicating and listening to someone – it is something that we all have to work on.
In Part 2 of Communication Bits & Pieces here is the balance of the 7 C’s of effective communication.
  • Coherent – When writing or speaking make sure that it is logical and relevant to the topic
  • Complete – When communicating, you should ensure that the audience has everything they need to be informed and if needed to take action.
  • Courteous – Check to see your communication is friendly, open and honest.  Stay away from hidden insults and passive-aggressive tones.  Keep the reader’s viewpoint in mind and be empathic to their needs.  This is an extremely important area of communication as I speak from experience.  I have experienced where my lack of empathy with listening and communicating caused strife that will take some time to rebuild a relationship.
The better we communicate between each other, our families and our clients the more credible and cohesive we become.
