4 Ways to Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October

We all know amazing women who have gone through breast cancer, and we have seen the bravery and strength in them. One way we can continue to support the awareness and cure for this disease is through sharing charities and stories of women who are battling or have overcome this cancer. To help get you thinking, walking, and running for this cause, we have come up with four ways to support it! Read them below and let us know which one you do:

  1. Paint Gwinnett Pink – Every year, Northside Hospital hosts this 5K walk/run event to bring awareness to breast cancer. All money raised for this event goes toward the hospital and breast cancer survivors. You can register for this event as an individual or a team, or you can simply donate.
  2. Breast Cancer Research Foundation – If you want to create an internal fundraiser for you team or company to participate in, this is your best resource. It is a well-renowned nonprofit that has been supporting breast cancer awareness since 1993. There are a few different ways to create a fundraiser, and you can even include your business logo on your donation page. Use the link to learn more about fundraising opportunities.
  3. Volunteer with Susan G. Komen – If you’re more of a hands-on person, then look for volunteering opportunities with Susan G. Komen. The Atlanta location is at 3525 Piedmont Road 5-215, Atlanta, GA 30305, and you can email them at info@komenatlanta.org.
  4. Break Out Your Pink – The easiest way to support breast cancer awareness month and spread the word is through wearing your pink! If you have any shirts or anything with the recognizable pink ribbon or something supporting a charity for this cause, then wear it.
